Men’s Golf tackles tough Youghiogheny course in dual against Waynesburg

MCKEESPORT, Pa. --- Carlow University men's golf competed against Waynesburg University in a dual at Youghiogheny Country Club Saturday.
The Celtics finished second behind the Yellow Jackets with a team score of 359, as the hilly, 6,375-yard course proved to be a challenge for the home team.
Logan Smith (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley HS) birdied the first hole and sank seven par to lead the Celtics with a third place score of 86 on the day.
Logan Connelly (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS/St. Vincent College) landed four par and hit two birdies on the back nine for an 88, and Christian Rotundo (Thorold, Ontario, Canada/Denis Morris Catholic Secondary School) made five par to card an even 90. Lukas Contrael (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong HS) rounded out team scoring for the Celtics with three birdies on the front nine and a par to score 95.
Matthew Karpeal led Waynesburg and individual scoring with a 79.
Up next for the Celtics is the La Roche Invitational at Wildwood Golf Club Monday.
