ALFRED, N.Y. --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a 9-1 AMCC contest to Alfred State College on the road Saturday.
The Pioneers (11-3, 5-0 AMCC) remain undefeated in conference action so far after the decisive win over the Celtics (2-9, 0-4 AMCC).
Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS/Roger Williams University) notched his third goal of the season in the 88th minute to make the score 8-1 before Alfred State landed a last-minute goal at 89'.
Alex Remington (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) and Zac Kolich (Enon Valley, Pa./Blackhawk HS/Pittsburgh Technical College) combined for eight saves on the day as Alfred State outshot Carlow 33-1 and recorded 13 corner kicks.
Travis Scandalis scored a brace for the Pioneers, while Farhan Abdi and Ryan Masi added two assists apiece.
The Celtics return to action with a 2 p.m. AMCC match at La Roche University Oct. 15.
