HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a 3-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest to Hilbert College on the road Saturday.
Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS) attempted all three of Carlow's shots on goal but could not get any to land, and John Rummel (Price, Utah/Utah State Univ. Eastern) suffered the loss in net after making four saves in the complete game effort.
The Celtics (1-7, 0-3 AMCC) afforded the Hawks just one goal in the 20th minute, holding Hilbert scoreless for 46 minutes until well into the second half.
Hilbert landed its second goal at 66' and scored the final goal at 78'.
The Hawks (4-3-1, 1-1 AMCC) outshot the Celtics 23-10 (7-3 on goal) and held a 10-1 corner kick advantage.
Carlow hosts Pitt Greensburg for an 11 a.m. AMCC match Oct. 8.
