PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's soccer lost a 5-0 contest to Chatham University at UPMC Graham Field Wednesday night.
The Celtics (0-2) held the Cougars (2-2) scoreless for 43 minutes before Chatham broke the stalemate and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Chatham opened the floodgates in the second half with goals at 52', 72', 76' and 80.
The Cougars did not afford the Celtics a single shot in the match, tallying 42 of their own – 28 of which were on target.
Goalkeeper Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) stopped a career-high 23 shots in the complete game effort.
Chatham recorded 15 corner kicks on the night.
The Celtics return to action with a 7 p.m. nonconference match at Hiram College Sept. 12.
