Women’s Soccer picks up first win of the season with shut out over Penn State Scranton

The Celtics (1-9) outshot the Lions, 41-2 (23-2 on goal).
Juliana Filia (North Versailles, Pa./Serra Catholic HS) scored a brace for Carlow – the first two goals of her collegiate career – in quick succession at 71' and 72' to put the Celtics ahead 8-0.
Julianna Wilson (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS), Camden Armstrong (Meadville, Pa./Meadville Area Senior HS) and Sydney Rummings (Erie, Pa./North East HS) all landed their first collegiate goals in the match at 25', 38' and 79' respectively. Julianna Wilson assisted on a goal by Jenna McGuinness (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin HS) at 63', and Amara Battista (South Park, Pa./South Park HS) tallied a goal at 44'.
Kaitlyn Reap (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area HS) kicked off the day with a goal in the 22nd minute, and Arley Wilson (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area HS) followed with another just 14 seconds later that put the Celtics ahead 2-0 early on. Arley Wilson assisted on Julianna Wilson's first goal at 25'.
Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made two stops to record the clean sheet, and Carlow held an 8-1 corner kick advantage on the day. The Lions (3-6-1) played down one person due to injuries on the team.
The Celtics host Mount Aloysius College for a 3 p.m. AMCC match Oct. 14. It is Carlow's "Kick Cancer" night, and fans are encouraged to wear pink.
