BRADFORD, Pa. --- Carlow University women's soccer played to a 0-0 draw against Pitt Bradford at Kessel Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.
It was a defensive struggle, and the Panthers (1-9-1, 0-5-1 AMCC) outshot the Celtics 17-7 (7-4 on goal).
Both teams placed shots on target early on, and Pitt Bradford missed a chance to score late in the first half on a penalty kick in the 42nd minute.
The Celtics (0-10-1, 0-5-1 AMCC) made a defensive save in the second half, and Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) stopped back-to-back shots in the 79th minute to keep the Panthers off the board.
Frustrations mounted throughout the second half, with a few cards issued to both teams. Amara Battista (South Park, Pa./South Park HS) struck her second shot on goal in the 80th minute, but time ran out before Carlow was afforded another opportunity.
Tessa Duchi and Chloe Stretton each recorded two shots on goal, and Pitt Bradford held a 6-2 corner kick advantage.
The Celtics travel to Penn State Altoona for a 7 p.m. AMCC match Oct. 22.
